HiHonor lawyers Huanying LIU and Vicky WEI, as Duty Lawyer attended the Legal Aid Centre of Qingdao Laoshan District, during 29th November 2021 to 5th December 2021.

Legal aid is the provision of assistance to low income people who are unable to afford legal representation in accordance with The PRC Law of Legal Aid, which was promulgated by the People’ Congress standing committee on 20 Aug. 2021, effective as of 1st January 2022. Legal aid is essential to guaranteeing equal access to justice for all, ensuring equality before the law, the right to counsel and the right to a fair trial in particular in criminal cases.

The consulted questions raised to Hihonor duty lawyers were closely related to normal life with a wide variety, such as How to claim against employer for unpaid sufficient wages? How to distribute community property/co-ownership property when husband and wife planning to get divorce? How to distribute the compensation for demolition of house/real estate among family members? How to deal with personal injury caused by driver escaping after traffic incident? etc.

HiHonor lawyers carefully listened to recorded questions raised by visitors, explained legal issue and likely procedure, rendered best possible professional comments for each visitor’s better understanding and consideration.

In 2021, HiHonor lawyers provided Legal Aid services in total 21 days, well performed the lawyers’ obligation and social responsibility. We appreciate Lawyer Huanying LIU and Vicky WEI for their dedication and professionalism in participating the Legal Aid services, hoping more and more people receive free legal aid service, truly feel the social fairness and justice.
